This is for all you fellow skimaz who are trying to live the life down by the beach!  I dont know where they are just yet but we need some serious sponsors to come and give us an explination for why we are not seeing some big names!!!  O'neal, fox, roxy, ect....  get out and do what u do!  How is a pro sapposed to skim 24/7 with school and work, cause no sponser wants to reward em with the money to skim full time?.......

Let me know what you think about this topic...... and fill me in if im missin something!

I notice that there is an extreme difference between big cali skim and gulf side skim and skimmerz! Gulf Side (BRK) do not have much goin off so they have to make something out of nuthing, where as cali is used to just riding waves Gulf side is like half wave ridn half freestyle!  We are used to a 3shuv out to the wave then some roastbeef followed by some more shuvn!! that is how we do it!  By the time we get out to cali you have an all around skimmer with some dank styles!......

Skimboarding is becomming the most popular water sport in many areas.  Skimboarders stand a few yards from the ocean with board in hand and wait for waves. When they see a wave they run towards it with their skimboard still in hand. Upon reaching the wet sand they drop the board and jump onto it as quickly as possible. Once on the board, the skimmer must remain as stable as possible and prepare to make the transition to the ocean. The skimmer then (hopefully) glides out into the ocean toward the oncoming wave, banks off of it, and rides it back into shore.  Modern skimboarding has evolved into a "real" sport where the limits are being tested by some of the best board  riders on the planet.

Modern skimboards are made out of fiberglass or carbon fiber and high density foam to serve as a core.  Because they are less stable and specifically because they lack skegs, many things can be done on a skimboard that cannot be done on a surfboard.
